Our Rehab journey with our beautiful boy Clancy

Within 30 minutes of dropping our gorgeous Golden Retriever pup to get de-sexed we received a phone call from Lindy informing us that she was concerned about his hips. Lindy asked if we would consent to an Xray of Clancy’s hips whilst he was under anaesthetic to determine just how bad the situation was.

We were devastated. However, in hindsight we had noticed that Clancy would often stop on short walks, he would simply lay down as if to say…”that is enough now”. On picking Clancy up after his Xray Lindy confirmed that Clancy was in bad shape and that he would most likely need surgery before he reached 12 months.

Lindy asked if we would be interested in undertaking a series of rehabilitation sessions with her to see if Clancy would be able to build enough strength in surrounding muscles to negate the need for expensive surgery followed by the need for confinement for long periods.

We live in Gloucester which is an hour and half away from Newcastle, so when Lindy offered to consult online via Facetime, we were so grateful.

The rehab exercises that Lindy prescribed were easy to complete, and Clancy looked forward to his rehab workout sessions. After each session Lindy would send a detailed email with a description of the new exercises and videos/photos which were clear and easy to follow.

We did what we were told and just like magic Clancy was a young dog with plenty of energy enthusiasm and no more stopping on walks!

Clancy and we thank Lindy so much for her expertise, patience, kindness and initiative for developing such a unique rehabilitation program that is so easily undertaken.

We are very happy with his progress. More to the point Lindy confirms that Clancy is now in great shape. I truly believe that Lindy saved Clancy from a life of pain and confinement.

I will say to those people who might find themselves in our position, that you need to be committed and do the exercises as prescribed. However, if you love your dog, you can trust that Lindy yourself and your best friend together as a team can improve your dog’s life.
